Definition of Cc
Cc (Carbon Copy ) is a field in an email that contains the list of recipients. A recipient of Cc field has a record of the email sent to the primary recipient under To: field that means a recipient of Cc field also get the exact copy (or carbon copy) of the email that is received by a recipient in To: field. Now the primary recipient of To: field also knows that the recipient in Cc field has also received the same mail.
The Cc field is used when we want a second party to records the email sent to the primary recipient, and the primary recipient must have knowledge of this. For example, you are submitting project details to your team leader, and you also want that your project manager must have knowledge of this.
On the other hand, you also want that team leader must know that you have also sent the project details to the project manager also so, he has to take your mail seriously. In this case, the email address of project manager would lie under Cc field.
Definition of Bcc
Bcc (Blind carbon copy) is a field in an email that contains the list of recipients. A recipient in Bcc receives an exact carbon copy of the mail sent to the primary recipients in To: field. But, the recipients in Bcc field are neither visible to the recipients of To: field and nor visible to recipients of Cc field, even the other recipient in the list of Bcc do not have knowledge of this.
The Bcc field is used when we want a third party to record an email sent to the primary recipients but, without disturbing the privacy of primary recipients.
For example, you want that your manager must know about all the assignments that you assign to your junior without the junior having knowledge of this. You have to put the email address of your manager in Bcc in this way you will keep your manager in the conversation loop without the knowledge of your junior. Or if you want to send a mail to a long list of recipients, but you don’t want to share the list of recipients with anyone then you must use Bcc field.

- Cc field is used when you do not want the recipient under Cc to take any action but let him know that the mail has been sent to a primary recipient and even let a primary recipient know that the mail has been sent to the recipients under Cc also. On the other hand, the Bcc field is used when you do not want to disclose to the primary recipients, recipients under Cc and the other recipients of Bcc also, that a third party has also received the mail.
